This patriotic tanto began with a vision for a knife that celebrated both craftsmanship and country. After discovering a striking set of handle scales from Emily's Casting Crafts, I commissioned a custom set with the colors reversed specifically for this project. The black and white design immediately inspired the idea of creating a uniquely American-themed blade.

To carry that theme throughout the knife, I engraved two phrases that have become enduring symbols of American history and values. One side of the blade features "We the People," taken from the opening of the United States Constitution, while the other bears the phrase "In God We Trust," familiar from American currency. These details transformed the knife from a simple tanto into a piece that reflected both patriotism and personal conviction.

The finished knife combines a clean tanto profile, custom-made patriotic scales, and meaningful engravings into a distinctive one-of-a-kind piece. Paired with a handcrafted sheath, it became a project that was as much about honoring ideals and heritage as it was about creating a functional blade.
