This knife came about in an unusual way for me. I generally prefer that each knife be unique, but after a friend saw the knife I had previously made for Tom S., he immediately asked if I could build one just like it. Fortunately, I had anticipated the possibility and had ordered a second set of the custom handle scales, making it possible to create a companion piece without compromising the original design.

Like the first knife, this build featured a tanto-style blade with crisp grinds and clean lines. While the overall design remained faithful to the original, I made a few subtle changes throughout the process, including adjustments to the handle contouring and a different pattern on the custom leather sheath. These small details helped give the knife its own personality while preserving the features that had made the original so appealing.

The finished result is a great example of how a successful design can be revisited and refined, creating a familiar knife that still feels like a custom, one-of-a-kind piece.
